Nominations and VOTING procedure
Message from the Club President Mr Dean Penniment
“Morning all, as you know nominations for ALL club management positions closed at 5pm last Sunday, and I am pleased to say that we have a nomination for EVERY position for the first time in a while. We do have two positions that have two nominations for.
We have dual nominations for the position of Secretary in Julie Walker and Jennifer Gamble, and we have dual nominations for the position of Treasurer in Gerry Edson and Maureen Hepburn.
As per our constitution and Bylaws, voting for these two positions will now take place at the club this coming Friday evening, [16/5/25] between the hours of 5-7pm only and again the following day, Saturday [17/5/25] between the hours of 11am-1pm only. I believe the returning officer will be either Jeff Wilson or Gwyn Davies. As there was only one nomination for all the other positions, they pick themselves. You must be a FULLY paid-up member in order to vote.
I am putting this post up for a reason, as I can guarantee that not ALL our members are/will be aware of this. These are your only two dates and time slots to cast your vote. PLEASE do not come to our AGM the following weekend expecting to vote on this as it will not be allowed. If you can’t cast your vote in either of these two available time slots this weekend, [like myself and a few others], then tough luck. I did try to get the following Friday night included as well for those that were unavailable this weekend, but to no avail. I want to make this quite clear, [because this is NOT a complaint on my part], I accept this decision fully and I wish ALL four of these candidates the very best of luck.
The club is currently in a very strong position, and I have no doubt that it will remain in a very strong position, and I thank you ALL for your support over my four years as President. Cheers all”.
